“Don’t understand all of the glowing reviews. Room was tiny, bathroom walls had white stains all over and toilet paper stuck to them, shower floor was level with the rest of the bathroom floor so the water just flowed across the whole bathroom, which was very unsafe. Neighborhood didn’t feel very safe. Really glad this was just a quick stay for us.”

“The Palm Oceanfront Hotel is one of the few hotels on Isle of Palms with private beach access, and honestly, that’s the only real advantage of staying here. For the price, the rooms and amenities fall short. The rooms are smaller than expected, not as clean as they should be, and the in‑room AC units are extremely loud—especially at night—making it hard to sleep. The continental breakfast isn’t worth waking up at 6:30 AM. Parking is available on-site but comes with a fee, and if you book……

“Clean room, friendly staff, AND free breakfast that I didn’t expect. We could see the beach from the deluxe room and just steps away from the beach. We randomly put two camper foldable chairs in the car and that actually was really helpful as we didn’t have anywhere else to sit besides the bed so we had a make shift living room that was perfect. Hope this helps someone else”

“The Shem Creek Inn was a good home base for us in Charleston. The hotel pool was great. The location overlooking the river was really fun for people watching! Hotel parking is really convenient. Walkable to several restaurants right on the water and a quick drive to other restaurants on Sullivan's Island. The hotel breakfast is ok. Not great, but easy. Fridge and microwave in the room were really helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we're back in the area.”
